    Burrowed / Behavioral Questions

    Heya folks!

So since switching from bark to aspen, I've been pleased to have "lost" my BP a few times now. the first time was when hey burrowed under the log, and this time he's an inconspicuous lump on the cool side! He completely ignored the cool hide (he loves the cork log more anyways) and went straight underneath.

So that's fun and all, but I'm starting to get a little concerned. For a few days now he's become a lot less active. I know it's not brumide because the ambient temps are where they need to be. I've been up late so I'm able to watch his activity and he hasn't moved from underneath the aspen for at least 24 hours. What should I do? do I try and move him or leave him?

    Important notes:
    - he was going into shed before the burrow and I haven't seen if he's shed or not
-he hasn't eaten this week, probably because of shedding process

    Re: Burrowed / Behavioral Questions

He's probably in the shedding process. Are his eyes blue/cloudy? The first time Prec hid herself away for 5 days I was freaking out. Then she came out and her eyes were clear and I sat and watched her shed. The most recent shed she was hidden 9 days!! Then she shed in her sphagnum moss hide and rejoined the living lol. Check his eyes. Then other than a quick check to see if he is all right leave him alone. Make sure you bump his humidity up too or give him a moss hide. Some eat, some don't. Prec ate through a few sheds but lately she hadn't but comes out starving. It's the only time I break my feeding day routine cuz shedding is hard work on them.

Thanks! That makes me feel a lot better. Yeah he's definitely shedding because he's got the eye caps and has been for a few days. Before he went into hiding I used some of the shedding helper, so hopefully that helps him out.
