    thermostats

Howdy yall (I spent 11 years in Oklahoma, forgive me! )

ATM I have tanks (hubs says he's going to build two snake racks, one for HIM!! and one for ME >.> but that might be a while). I've been pouring over the tank setup sticky thread and had one lil question, I'm assuming that using this particular setup you have one thermostat per tank. Is there a way to hook up one to cover all tanks? I have two tanks, and this payday will be getting another for the snake I've got the payment plan on. And of course there are other snakes I'd love to get at some future date. But not till I have proper setups (this is the only thing keeping my snake addiction under control).

If the tanks have exactly the same type of heat pad (same size and draw the same wattage) then you can run multiples on one thermostat. Just add up the total wattage and make sure the t-stat is rated for it; you can't run 20 40-watt UTH's (20*40=800 watts) on one thermostat that's only rated for 500 watts total output.

Since you're planning on using racks anyway, get a decent t-stat that can handle a rack so you can move it when you're ready to move your BP's into their new digs.

    Re: thermostats

That certainly makes sense/cost effective. I've heard (haven't priced yet) about Herpostats(? may have the spelling/name wrong) are there any other brands anyone would recommend?
