How long should I wait till holding my ball python for the first time?

Wait from 3-6 days in order for it to aclimate to its enclosure or else it won't eat and Itl stress out

I dont know, I got it from petsmart and they guessed 3 months

3 months should be closer to 2 feet and will eat small adult mice

I got it saturday afternoon, so is now too soon to hold him?

Yeah you can definatley hold it
just don't reach right infront of his face lol touch his sides and let him know you're gonna handle it or else Itl want to strike at you
