Shedding Ball Python

My ball Python is currently in the shedding process. I misted her tub a few times and she HATES when I do that. So instead, I put a hide with moss in it, and she refuses to stay in it. I heard that a damp bedding can cause scale rot. Im using paper towels. what should I do? Thanks

Maybe her humidity is okay right now?

When you mist, try not to use cold water (if you have been). Room temperature is fine.

Keep an eye on her while she sheds and see if it goes well. If it comes off in at least a couple large pieces instead of a ton of tiny ones, I think you're fine.

What are your temps and humidity levels?

If the general environment is correct, she'll go in the hide when she needs/wants to.

The warm end is always at 89F, while the cool end is 80-79F. The humidity levels normally are around 50-60%? Not sure on that.

You need a digital hygrometer to accurately measure your humidity! To say you are not sure is a likely sign that the current humidity is too low. Don't guess on it!

Stay away from the stick on dial-type thermometers and hygrometers. They are notoriously inaccurate.

I agree with the previous poster. You should probably get something to measure the humidity. People (including me) are generally not good at estimating humidity levels unless it's really humid or really dry. If your humidity levels are already high enough she won't need the humid hide or anything.

If you're still concerned about the humidity level right now, just soak a couple of paper towels, squeeze them out so there's no water running off them but they're still damp, and just lay them on top of the hide.

The humid hide should be enough, though. She will use it if she needs it.

Okay. I did have a hygrometer for humidity, but it fell and broke. I should pick one up sooner than later.

Today, she currently no longer has blue eyes, and she looks pretty wrinkly and deflated. This means she'll shed soon, right?
