    Stressed?

    Heya,

couple of days ago i moved my og to a bigger tub ( 2 times bigger as the old one) as the old one was getting to small. In her old tub she never was in her hide and she was the most relaxed bp i had

now in the bigger tub she is alot in her hide. Also when i want to take her out she isnt as relaxed as she was before and and she even hissed at me yesterday O.o ( i had to take her out to change the newspaper in her tub)

now my question is, should i leave her in this tub and let her hide do it's job or should i put her back in her old tub?

Oh i forgot i am getting Stressed out too as i still cant get an exact temp. reading. I have 3 thermometers and 2 have them have 2 probes and every machine inclusive the thermometer of the thermostat, even the 2 probes of 1 machine give me a different temp. And it is driving me crazy as i have no way of telling wich one is correct. I also bought an temp. Gun and all that did to me is make me doubt even more as his readings sometimes go up to 97F while the thermostat gives 93F and a other machine gives me 92F with one probe give me a 93.7. As you probably can imagine. This is driving me crazy. Any help would be appriciated.

What kind of thermometers are you using to measure the temps? I would guess the temp gun is most likely correct.

Either way, with temp readings ranging from 93 to 97 it's too hot in there. Turn the heat down.

That's definitey at the upper end of a safe temp range. If what you read is accurate I'm sure it works (or worked at some point in time) for him. I think I read he has no hotspots anymore and just uses an ambient temp around 85 now, but I could be mistaken on that.

Anyways, BP's are individuals. Some prefer it warmer, some cooler. Mine all seem to do better for me on hotspots of 86 or 87 to 89...90 max. But that's just what seems to work best for me.

If you aren't sure, experiment. Try different temps, and see how your snake responds. If you turn down the heat and she clings to the hotspot endlessly trying turning it up a bit. If you turn it up and she spends all her time in the cool end, turn it down. As long as you pay attention to her, you'll eventually find the range that suits her best.

ok as you said that probably the temp. gun would be the correct temprature i lowered the thermostat from 34.2 celcius (93.6F) to 31.5 Celcius (88.7F)

i did remove her hide for the experiment if she chooses the hot side or the cooler side of the tub (as i did read somewhere they will chose security (the hide) above regulating temprature.

i will check on the temprature in another 30 minutes orso when the tubs have adjusted to the new temp.

now i only hope it isnt to much of a drop and make them stop eeting or something

oh and the thermostats i have are. ThermoControl PRO 2 by a brand named Lucky Reptile

and the temp. gun is from Rep Tech.

the 2 thermometers that both have 2 probes are from Lucky Reptile also

oh and btw i dont have the probe of the thermostat directly on the heatmat and below the tub.

i have 1 empty tub in both my 2 racks and taped the probe directly on the tub when the heatmat is under it.
