    Columbian redtailed boa morph?

Hello I got this pretty little girl/guy at the reptile show today and she was in the container with another boa and I don't remember what was on the container in all the excitement lol so I was just wondering if you could tell by looking is she just a normal columian redtailed morph? (Obviously I know you won't know if she's het for anything) I am always bad at morphs with most reptiles bc so many look alike to me lol anyway she is very docile and outgoing and she ate already. Here are a few pics let me know what you think

    Re: Columbian redtailed boa morph?

    Nice, and hello.

Your question is a bit confusing, but if you are asking if it is a morph, the answer is very likely, no. If you are asking if it is a normal Colombian boa, the answer is, very likely yes.

There is no such thing as a "normal morph". Morphs are variations from the norm. Some are VERY extreme, and some are quite subtle.

It looks very young, and there will be a fair amount of coloring up as it ages.

If you were told if was a morph, or paid more than what is typical for a normal BCI, you should try to contact the breeder. Usually those reptile shows are 2 day events so you could return tomorrow for more info.

Or,,,,, see what Evenstar thinks right here on in the forum. Chances are she's seen/heard about most of the morphs out there.

In any event, you scored a boa today and that's what counts.

Looks like a normal to me, and as stated above there is no such thing as a "normal morph" they are either a normal, or a morph..Looks like a good snake though

Oops sorry I'm new to boas and I've not done a whole lot of research on the different locales or morphs(or what they're called) I've just been focusing on their care for now I was just wondering if she was just a normal columbian red tail and you have answered my question I didn't pay much for him/her she? Was $45 which seemed like a good price to me? Lol compared to the morphed varieties and everything lol
thank you for answering my question

I also hope it wasn't an impulse buy, and you did your homework beforehand, and that you know you will have an 8-10 ft snake in a few years.

Normal BCI, $45 is a good price for her assuming she's healthy, I've seen normal males priced higher.

Very cute and very fair at $45! And just a heads up: no such thing as a Columbian Red Tail BCI - spelled "Colombian" and these guys aren't considered "true" red tails like the BCC boas (Peruvians, Suris, Guyanas, etc)

I agree with both Gio and Daybreaker. Sound assessment from Gio and I was going to add just what Daybreaker did.

Very nice normal Colombian boa. If she has a sweet personality, you will enjoy her for years to come!
