Hatchling BP in 40 gallon tank?

Hello, I have been researching BP's for months now. I am getting everything that I will need to raise one. I am planning on going to the http://www.thefair.com/fun/details/1...imal-show-sale and purchasing a BP. I was wondering if there was a way I could raise a hatchling BP in a 40 gallon tank without stressing it out and having feeding problems off the get go.

Yes. Just do some searches on this forum and you can find all sorts of information on it. That's what I would do first and foremost is just research our questions on here and the internet in general. I don't see what you couldn't do that as long as he has some really good hides in the tank where he can feel safe. I'm leanring that a good hide is pretty important to these critters so I've been constantly trying to improve on which hides I use. Right now I have everythin from big dog bowl dishes for the water that double as a hide once I cut a piece of the side off to tupperware that has a hole cut on the top so they can get into it. If you do something like the ladder just be sure to check it often as I've found mine like to go to the bathroom in those hides then they'll either avoid using the hid until I clean it really well or worse yet I'll find them sitting in the hide with a moist towl and substrate with a little present in there for me.

I'd like to add that with small bp's in a large tank, you really want to make sure there's not a lot of open space in it. You can add a lot of decorative foliage and multiple hides in various spaces. Younger bp's can get stressed if they don't feel they are safe and that can possibly lead to feeding issues.
