Ghost questions
Is it normal for a ghost to have a white patch like this on their side? At first I thought it was an injury but it just appears to be her coloration which I think is pretty cool. I'm going to do some more research and thinking but I would like to breed her to my male het ghost that Kyle was kind enough to give me. I just picked her up today. She came with her enclosure but I'll probably be moving her after a few feedings. The previous owner was feeding her 2 small live mice every other week which doesn't seem like much to me. I didn't ask what she was referring to as "small" which I probably should have just to make sure we are on the same page as I know some people classify sizes differently. I plan on trying to get her on frozen thawed small rats and to feed her more often. She is 2 years old. I'll weigh and measure her tomorrow. She's very docile and "friendly".

Re: Ghost questions
I would like my initial breeding projects to involve this morph so I'm trying to learn about it. Any information is helpful.

Hey Alan, Congrats on your new pretty girl!
And best of luck with the breeding as well.

Re: Ghost questions
Yes that is common. That is a flame coming up from the belly. You will see them on pretty much all morphs and normals.

that is called a flame, when the white from the belly comes up into the areas where there is no pattern nearby.
for many morphs, lots of flames are a sign of high quality, people breed for it, for some morphs flames are one of the identifying traits.
no problem at all, quite the contrary, its a sign of a high quality normal. i say normal because hypo reduces the black pigment, but hypo/ghost does not affect the pattern or the blushing or the flames.
so this is not a problem at all. it is very nice. what i see is a hypo with a nicely reduced pattern and some flames going on. the flame and the reduced pattern is a bonus, people selectively breed for it, all in all i say you have an awesome hypo/ghost female there. for a breeding project with hypo/ghost, this is a really good female, definitively worth breeding when you have the right male. its a really nice visual hypo female, and as such, many breeders would value it as very useful, especially when you want to work with the hypo/ghost gene.
i think some lines of hypo/ghost are incompatible, but these are not that frequent. i would still ask and try to figure out which line it is. there are the mainstream hypos that are generally compatible with each other, you probarbly have one of those, so it will be completely compatible with "orange ghost" and "butterscotch" and a few other lines, including the rest of the mainstream unlabeled hypo/ghosts. but there are some rare lines that are in fact incompatible with the mainstream.
im like 98% sure that you have a common line of hypo, but in any case, i would still bugger the breeder. if the breeder has any information on the parent snakes and the lineage, get it. if the breeder has pictures of the parent snakes, or siblings/ clutch mates or pictures of the clutch, get them. retrieve all the information you can. when you breed, and you have lots of information on mom and dad, you can give your customers lots of information, and they will appreciate it.

Thank you! I was wondering about the hypo's being compatible or not.
