    REPTICONs

Our Columbia REPTICON is coming in July and I was wondering if any of you that attend REPTICON actually take one of your BPs with you and carry them around. Please explain why either way. I'm thinking about hanging with my pastel Cody when I go in July but I have a big fear of him possibly catching something from one of the other snakes there. I do trust that the vendors there have healthy animals but things happen.

    Thanks for the input.

I never took any of mine to the first show, but I may the next time, which I think is later this fall. But yeah everyone usually has a snake with them. I saw some pretty cool snakes that were in people's personal collection...Even made some new Facebook friends talking to the people about their snakes...so go for it

    Re: REPTICONs

I guess my question could really apply to any of your snakes and not just BPs...thanks again.

I wouldn't take a snake there unless I was a vendor wanting to sell it. Otherwise, I'd rather look at everything and purchase more snakes without having to worry about carrying the one I already own around.

    Re: REPTICONs

I've been to quite a few REPTICONs but never took any of my own snakes.

agreed^^ only other reason I would take one with me is if I had set up a trade with someone who was a vendor at the show PRIOR to the show

Aside from attention I never understood why the general public would want to take their animal to a show.

That's honestly the only reason I would Deborah, just to show him off really. He's not even a top notch pastel. I like to talk about him and let the breader I got him from see him now after a couple years.

I guess I was more wondering if people thought I would be risking his health in some way with all the other snakes around. No biggie, guess I'll just leave him home.

thanks again for the thoughts everyone.

Well the reason I would take mine is because I am a member of the local Herp Society, and we always get a booth, and we use the snakes for educational purposes...
