    Question first time feeding....

I just got my Ball Python Hatchling about a week ago and I wanted to feed it today and I was wandering what time would be best to feed them and also if they don't eat what is best that I do with the pinkie..... I have read a lot about feeding hatchlings so I mostly know what to do but if there us anything that is not commonly said but is important to know about feeding could you also tell me that.......
    ...Thank you!

    You hatched?
    Has it shed yet?
If someone else hatched, did it eat and what?

I know with baby boas if they aren't acting interested in the food I will put the boa and pink in a paper bag and leave them alone for a while. It works 100% of the time

    Re: first time feeding....

Well I went to feed him and at first he wouldn't take it so I went to put it down in the box and it accidentally bit me... So could anyone tell me when it would be best to feed him again and if there is anything else I need to know differently because he bit me instead of the pinkie.....

Well first of all a pinkie rat is too small. A hatchling can usually take a rat fuzzy or mouse hopper straight from the egg, and tomorrow I plan to offer my hatchlings that have only taken 2 meals a rat pup.

I would give him 4-5 days and try to feed in the evening when he's normally active. Use feeding tongs or forceps to lower the prey into his enclosure or tub, BP's will strike at heat as well as scent, so of course he went for your fingers.

Oh okay.... And we forgot to but the tongs and this is my first time ever having a snake so I was just feeding him what the pet store told me to... My bad... But That you! And I'll use tongs the next time
