Wheezing? Happens very very rarely
So I've only had the guy for 2 weeks, and he doesn't normally but he usually hangs out with me but if I move suddenly or I pick him up, and I guess he's not expecting it, he lets out a little whistley kind of wheeze. He doesn't do it normally or if I'm handling him slowly, and it's happened maybe twice, but I thought I'd post about it just in case it's something. Took him to the vet not too long ago (three days to be exact) and she said that he was breathing normally. Had him checked out specifically since his previous owner was a heavy marijuana smoker and she said that everything seemed normal, and he does seem normal for the most part. Should I be concerned?

As long as he isn't breathing with his mouth open, or have mucous from his nostrils, or mouth you are ok. Sometimes mine will put his nose in my ear, and you can hear him breathe, and it almost sounds like wheezing..

Yeah none of that is happening. He breathes normally almost all of the time but sometimes when I pick him up or I startle him or move in a way that I guess, he doesn't suspect, that's when I hear him make the nose. No mucous and he doesn't look ill or anything. It's very very faint.

This is a random question, and I don't want to start up a new thread, but how much liquid is normal for bps to pass when pooping? I got the brown turd, the urates, and a bit of clear liquid. I read a post on here while browsing that said that not all of the urine is converted into the solid, but I wanted to double check again.... new to ownership, paranoid about everything. No terrible smells. Just a faint poopy smell. I just cleaned it up (caught it pretty soon lol I'm up late) Apologizes again.

Thanks for the response! I took a picture and got really paranoid about it. I usually find the poops in the morning, and I figured much of the liquid parts dried up by the time I got to see it, but this time I caught him minutes after he dropped the turd so the liquid was a bit astonishing, I suppose. He's my little babysnake and I just want to make sure things are okay with him for the long run : ). I figure once I know a little more and do a bit more reading on them it'll get easier. This forum has been a wealth of information.

Isnt that a hiss? I thought a hiss would sound like that? If it has only happened when he is scared...that was my first thought.

+1 I too would call that noise a hiss. He's defending himself trying to make himself look tough. If it only happens when he is startled or scared I'm 99.9% positive he's hissing at you.

Could be a hiss, could just be an exhale because he's startled. When they're little their hisses aren't very loud or very long - in fact, they're kind of cute.
