Rant about buying stuff online
Ok. Long story kind of short. I have sold a few things on Craigslist and once I get baby snakes I am unfortunately going to have to deal with this when I begin to sell them....
But if you want to buy something why do people NOT READ the POST AD, hit reply, and continue to ask a million questions about said item, of which I have spent the last 30 minutes typing and posting pictures on?
I was selling my car on cl and it sold. I had people asking me what was wrong with it, for pictures of it, and God knows what else. I got a text from someone the other day and it said "pics of jetta". Now mind you I took and attached 10 photos on the ad, but that is all he said. I told him to Google it.
I put my old cell phone on there today since we just upgraded. The TITLE of my post read "Verizon DROID Razr." after spending 20 minutes texting this character he asks me which carrier my phone is through. When I told him Verizon he was like "oh never mind I need att...... I wanted to reach through my phone and choke him....
Yes I have anger issues... rock in PTSD. But it really aggravates me on how some people in this world are. I cannot even go to Walmart because I swear the scum of the earth shops there. Well... 15% of people there are just trying to get a deal, but I'm sure Yall understand what I mean...
Oh well... what can you do? I decided that if a person cannot read or look at pictures I posted they are no longer deserving of my product... is that too much to ask for or am I just being an a**hole? I mean when I start to sell snakes, which I am not doing for the money, and someone starts asking questions that I already answered in my clear, consice, and we'll thought out post, minus some spelling errors (I was a Marine for 8 years, I dernt spel 2 well, they most likely cannot care for the snake too well.
And just in case anyone is wondering, I want a pewter pied ball python, a hypo pastave pied, and a savannah pied... The odds of getting some of those snakes are crazy... I have a better chance of winning the lottery and buying the snakes, but something about putting the time in and raising them yourself if well worth the investment and time. So since I will most likely be spending 5-10 years getting the snakes I seek I will have a ton of others as well. knowing me a lot of them will be staying with me because snakes are just facinating, but something will have to give....
Anyway rant over. Sorry I just couldn't hold it in anymore.
Tldr: if you skipped the entire post and just read this you are a part of the problem. Lol

i dont know craigslist, but i have ebay experience, and experience with some trading card marketplaces (magic the gathering.... yeah its just a game, but it gets more challenging when the cards you deal with are worth 200 a piece).
some people just suck.
then i purchased some diamonds at the biggest show in europe, and sold them for cash to local jewellers. i made no money, i mean, i sold them with a slight profit, but it was not worth the time. but the experience is so much different. walking into the back room of a big diamond trader at a booth at the biggest show in europe is awfully intimidating, especially if you are going to buy just a few lemon colored princess cut stones for 300 dollars total. they have a big 7 feet tall safe, anchored to the floor, they open it, and inside there is a stack of 5 smaller safes. and then they use a silver shovel to get you a sample to choose from, and with tweezers you pick 4 gems you can afford out of a pile of 50. well, actually you pick 10 and check their optics and narrow it down to 4. you know they are pissed because you only buy for 300 bucks and its actually a waste of their time, but they are super friendly and empathic, but there are professional private security guards with semi-automatic rifles watching over your every move. selling the gems to local jewellers was much more fun and quite easy. everyone was friendly and professional.
that was a nice buying/selling experience that left me with a pair of lemon-colored 0.11 carat princess cuts. i figured that set in jewelry, compared to wholesale price, nice cut diamonds go up around 500% or more. for the same end result, you can cut the price down if you buy the gems wholesale and pay a goldsmith to set them. over all it was a lot of fun, i scored some gems, and if i manage to find a girlfriend, and give her a pair of studs, she will never see anything similar for sale for less than 1500 anywhere, while i only paid maybe 250 to a goldsmith for a really good setting. i have a small diamond collection, i also got some synthetic deep vivid purple diamonds (real diamonds, same material, just lab-grown) and other stuff.
i think the experience of buying/selling it is significant, and on ebay or craigslist it just sucks.
about the phone: if you change the sim card, does that not switch the identity of the phone completely? i often put my sim card into a different phone and used it and then switched back. so how exactly can it be that your phone is fixed to verizon?

Re: Rant about buying stuff online
90% of the emails I get have questions that can be answered if they read the whole ad! It's like people just read the title and email you.
Also the more emails you get from a person the less likely they are to buy snake. If they ask you for more pictures they are definitely not buying the snake!

When you're looking through as much info as what is available on the net you tend to skim over items. That will always be an issue. That and the fact that you're dealing with people from all walks of life when both buying and selling. That's my .02.
Also, there is no static format for the info on ebay or cl.

Dude!! I posted some kittens on cl to re home, and this person hit me up like 2 weeks ago...decided she wasn't interested after a million dumb questions. Then yesterday she hits me up again asking if I still have them and repeated allll the questions. (I get it, she might have forgotten after talkin to other ppl. But save the convo if ur going to go back to that person). So she's hounding me for pics...gets em, tells me their too big...and that the ad says their 12 weeks old-THE AD IS TWO WEEKS OLD THATS 14 WEEKS -___-
And then the final question after hours of bullcrap texting...."where r u located" I politely answer. "That's too far. Thanks. Bye". I was heated!!!!! That is like the first thing I look at when I'm skimming CL! It's right there next to the word(kittens)!
Super glad someone else feels my frustration lol

Python friend. We may have a bit in common. I know a little about mtg but I was in dubai I bought some gold and had a similar experience
With smartphones now each phone is specifically tied to a carrier. It's annoying
I was also browsing fauna and this guy had 21 posts and every post had to do with him asking questions in a thread that were answered in the post... "will you ship if I pay" ad clearly said no shipping period... "how big are they" ad stated eating Pinky mice.. now I'll give him that's not specific but pinkie mice are tiny so odds are its a small snake. He was trying to buy everything from burms to gaboons.
And I feel bad for all the pythons on Craigslist. Most of the people around here have no clue about them and have some stressed out snakes.

MTG!!! WOOOOO!!!
Yeah, CL can suck a big wet grape sometimes. I've heard a ton of horror stories like this and dread the day I'm ready to sell baby snakes. I have some reptile tanks which are needing to go on CL but I've been procrastinating that task.

It not Craigslist or any other site, its the people using them. And it happens to buyers too. I just spent 3 and a half months hunting around for an enclosed trailer. Had the cash in hand, was planning on picking up same day. Lost track of the number of emails and calls. Some would just delete the ad, most would not respond, I ended up calling the same guy 4 different times because he wouldn't take down his ads on trailers he had sold, and I was hitting so many that I would lose track. I actually sent 10 emails Monday and Tuesday together, all on ads less then 4 days old, only got one response, and drove up that night to get the darn thing. Been there as a seller too, listed a truck I bought cheap to drive while I put my van back together, listed it way less than it was worth but still more than I paid, wrote in that the price was firm, and still had a guy call me and try to talk me down. I told him to stuff it, and sold the truck half an hour later. Less than 2hrs and it was gone. Good and bad on there just like anywhere.
Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?
Never argue with idiots. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with their experience.
Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.

look into phone unlocking, I just switched 4 tmobile phones over to ATT. Only one that had an issues was the note 3, it didn't work on ATT's LTE, so just had to set it to only use 4g. If you're on Verizon your choices are pretty limited where to switch, I think US Cellular and Spirit are the only ones who use the same network.
Craigslist overall has been pretty good to me, but I have had many people make appointments to come look at things and never show up. While trying to rehome a dog we took in as a foster, I swear there are people who make a living somehow of calling or emailing people asking if they can come see the dog, make an appointment, and never show up. I mean 30+ no shows. I was baffled. Snakes on the other hand, it seems people normally show up.

Yeah I know about phone unlocking but he should do that if he really cares. Then there can be other issues with it too..
I have been there as a buyer. Was going to buy a spider morph and drove almost all of the way there and he asks if we can do it another day. I was livid. Then there was the time I sold a ps3 and got 300 in fake money. Oh that was a trip......
