Do you pet your snakes?
I put this in general bp but I know some people don't frequent that section so I'll throw it here... how many times has your snake sought out your finger to scratch his/her chin/jaw? I thought that he may be doing this as a temperature reaction or something since I was having a rack issue a few days ago. However all is fixed and humidity has been 60-70% I have two starting the shed cycle. So I think that he is a special snake.
He came out looking different than all the normals and now he is acting unlike any snake I have heard of. Lol.
I have the first puppy snake. Newest morph. I call it the kujo. I will breed him out and see if its genetic! Lololololol

I know when you put your finger u deer their chin they will lift up, like you see when they mess with crocs, but he actually pushes down. And if I stop he will follow my hand. I'm stumped

Re: Do you pet your snakes?
<< Bearer of bad news: it's not that special. Most of my snakes will stop and chill for a minute or 2 when I start rubbing their chins. I've shown others to do it with snakes as well. It almost puts them in a trance. I guess their chins are sensitive to vibration when they get it massaged in a sense, they get kinda like a dog when you find that magic scratch spot which gets their leg kicking. Then when you stop, they start tongue flcking again and look around to see why it stopped.
One difference is mine don't raise their heads, they press down more and try to get more chin surface on my fingers.

Depends on which snake we're talking about. Nessie, my 700g normal, likes her fat-stores pinched, the ones on the top of her head. And she "loves" back massages, she stops moving and rubs up into my fingers to get more pressure. But she could care less when it comes to chin scritches.
Izzy prefers to explore over being pet. But she's still little, when she gets bigger she'll probably sit with me more readily.

Re: Do you pet your snakes?
I actually pet my snake all the time, he always tries to slither into the space between my fingers and moves back and forth
Who said snakes were boring?

Re: Do you pet your snakes?
To me it seems when they feel you touch them they tense up in kind of a panic like state. Then they relax and once they feel safe again they dont seem to mind it but dont seem to enjoy it either. However, i have one that doesnt even flinch when you touch her and one who no lie flies into my hand when i go in to get her but all the rest are super paranoid and dont really like to be touched. So i know there are exceptions. If you said yours played chopsticks on the keyboard i would not jump to conclusions

Re: Do you pet your snakes?
One of mine has a scar that gets itchy sometimes and when I rub it for him he arches his back like a cat so I can keep scratching him lol it's to funniest cutest thing. I'm not sure if they like chin tubs though I haven't checked yet.

Re: Do you pet your snakes?
Maybe the last part of what i said didnt come out i right. I wouldnt think someone was crazy cause they had an animal with an exceptional personality. Some people say a snake is just a snake but they do tend to show you another side sometimes and i would be interested in the offspring that were breed for unusually personalities.
