    Dilemma - Heat/Sound

I have the tank, made of glass, in my bedroom because it will be the quietest room in the house. UNFORTUNATELY, I cannot sleep unless the temperature is incredibly low in my room. I need to have it sub-70 in my room in order to be comfortable enough to sleep. This makes it very difficult to regulate the cool side temperature. If I have the window closed, the temps are okay - 78-82. But when I go to bed, I open the window and turn on my fan so it gets cooler in my room, so I can sleep. This causes the ambient temperature to drop to 68-70.

I *do* have a 75-watt heat lamp that doesn't seem to be doing much. Should I increase the wattage to 100? OR should I move the entire tank into my Computer room, which it's much warmer [no windows and filled with heat-emitting electronics] but also louder as I'm frequently on Skype/Raidcall/Axon talking/gaming?

I don't have a Ball Python yet, but I will be getting one as soon as the tank situation is under control.

You need to get a second undertank heater and thermostat to regulate the cool side temperature if you're going to keep the snake in that room. Or try a closet with a space heater on a thermostat.

Otherwise, you can move the tank into the warmer room but be prepared for summer and to monitor the daylights out of the temperatures in there.

I'd go second UTH and thermostat.

I would put the tank in your computer room where it's warmer. I wouldn't worry too much about the noise. When I had glass tanks, they were in my game room and Battlefield gets pretty loud at times Never saw that it effected the snakes. Just make sure that you have hides for them so they can do their thing.

Also, you might want to close the top with foil so the heat doesn't escape as much. Here's a good thread on how to setup a glass tank:
