    Feeders in Ohio?

Hello. I recently just got a 2014 hypo DH Sunglow BCI and I was wondering if anyone knew of any places that sell feeders in ohio. I'm located in Elyria (40mins from Cleveland) and no where by me sells any frozen rodents besides one pet store. I would order online but it just isn't a good choice because she'll outgrow that food size before she eats 50 mouse hoppers. So if anyone has any knowledge of pet stores from around here that sell a variety of rodents or a breeder I could go get them I'd greatly appreciate it

I'm in Columbus and get frozen at Jack's, Petsmart and Pet Supplies Plus. Any of those around?

Hello and greetings fellow northeast Ohioan!

When I need feeders I will always get them at the local show. They are super cheap, I get a bag of 20 rats for $35, and a bag of 50 mice for $32. However the last show was yesterday, so you'll have to wait until the next show. It's on May 4th.

Here is the website, its in Brookpark. http://www.freewebs.com/shrz/index.htm Hope this helps!

    Re: Feeders in Ohio?

I was just at the show yesterday! I don't actually have the snake yet so I didn't buy any. I get her Thursday so I kinda made this ahead of time lol. But I do have pet supplies plus and that's where I was planning on going if I couldn't find any other better places. And Monty I didn't see any frozen or p/k rodents at the show other than in bulk. Do you have to buy them live or did I happen to miss them.

Rodent Pro vendors at the show each month. They are in the right corner with massive coolers they only sell in bulk. Even if you only have one snake, bulk is still the way to go, if frozen properly they never have an expiration date.

There is also a vendor close to them that sells live feeders dirt cheap too. PSP sells live feeders for $1.50 a mouse. I get them for $.50 from the vendor. PSP also sells frozen mice, but they are very expensive, I think its almost $10 for a 5 pack. Buying in bulk is just a whole lot more cost effective.

See if you can find a source of live near you. Most small pet stores that sell live will pre-kill them for you in my experience.

You can then take them home and freeze them. It'll be much cheaper than buying at chain stores.

    Re: Feeders in Ohio?

I've emailed a local breeder to see if we could work something out. And I plan on buying bulk when she's bigger but they only sell the right size for her right now in 50's and she'll outgrow them before she's done with 50. So Monty I'll probably use Pet Supplies for now until the next show.

Another thing you may want to do instead of buying at PSP, and its something I still do for some of my guys. Instead of feeding just one mouse, once the snake starts getting a bit bigger, feed her two mice instead of just the one. That way you'll be going through your bulk.

Or ya know, just buy more snakes!

I may hit you up on that offer, I've got a rather small, and picky albino boy that is only eating fuzzy mice right now, and it's rather hard to find someone with a good supply of fuzzy mice.
