TSTATS on Lights-probe placement

Does anyone here use a proportional TSTAT with lightbulbs? As it starts to warm up here my Bluey cages are getting too warm, I have dimmer switches hooked up the the lights, but because the temps change daily it is hard to dial everything in and keep a constant temp. I was going to hook everything up to a TSTAT, but am having an issue with probe placement. The Blueys have a thick layer of substrate for burrowing and they "organize" their cages daily so nothing stays in place. That being said putting the probe on the ground is not really an option and I don't see a safe way for it to be in contact with the light bulb. How is are you guys doing it? I have also thought about switching the bulbs to RHPs, but there doesn't seem to be much info in the way of how successful they are with lizards. As always thanks for the input!

You could build a cage to go around your bulb and attach the probe to the cage? just an idea.... Hard to say without seeing a photo of your setup.

I have thought about that. It's probably the only thing that I could do. I will log into tapatalk and try to load a pic. Its a vision 322 with a basking bulb dropped down inside it.
