    First two refusals. Opinions please

I got Loki in November and the last two weeks have been the first two refusals I've had from him. How long until I should worry? I think the cause might be some temp fluctuations we've had lately. We had another cold snap and when it gets that cold (10s and below) our heater can't keep up and the house gets cold. Loki's heaters couldn't keep up and overnight his temp dropped. I got a stronger heater that morning and everything was good. Then things got warmer and yesterday temps were too high so he's back to the old heater. Anyway, I think made the fluctuations were what caused his strike.

Also I'm feeding small f/t rats. No matter how hot I get the rat my hand is always more tasty looking because he always tries to strike me so I try to feed while he's in his hides so I can zombie dance with my hand safely out of reach. He only tries to strike when I have on latex gloves because he's learned that to mean food. What else can I hold the rat with to keep my hand a bit safer?

Two weeks is nothing to worry about. BPs go on extended fasts all the time.

A pair of 18 inch hemostats will solve your problem with him mistaking your hand for his rat.

Thanks! I didn't think I had need for worry but I wanted to be sure. I'll look into getting some of those so I can feed more safely!
