    Smile Clown x Bumblebee pairing.

I paired these up on my birthday, 2/24/14 and they've been locked ever since. They're in a better position now with tails tangled up and copulation was observed. I breed GTPs, but this is my first time breeding BPs. Any suggestions or links to a good breeding timeline? How long do you keep the male in with the female? He's a very aggressive feeder and will probably eat after separation. She's been off feed for a couple of weeks and I believe I've observed follicle development with her wrapped around the water bowl on her side. I'm excited to see what develops and hopefully I'll get a couple of Bumblebee het Clowns.

You keep him in there as long as they are locked together. It can take anywhere from 1-48 hrs.
Check on them every now and then and once their tails are separated you take him out.
    Good luck!

They're still locked. I'll separate them when they stop and try to feed both in a couple of days. Do you reintroduce them at any time? Thanks!

Thanks everyone! I'm getting mixed openions on how often you reintroduce the male. It's either once a month or 3 days on 3 days off! Hopefully he got the job done that first time and I'll know next time I put him back in. I may also have to incubate GTP and BP eggs at the same time. I was thinking 87.7 with probe above GTP egg box in the middle and BP eggs on the top shelf. Only problem is the fan is also on top shelf, maybe I could move it to the side.

The male can breed 3 days on, 3 off (I usually do 3 on/4 off because it works out to a week, and I like that better). But each female only needs to be bred once a month. You could get by with even fewer breedings if you had an ultrasound or were really confident with palpating. Hopefully that makes sense...87.7 would be fine for BP eggs. You can even go slightly lower if you need to (I don't know what GTP eggs need).

So the 3 day method is only for males breeding multiple females? But is it too much to breed females more than once a month? She's the only breeder female I have so should I intoduce the male again in a few days or wait a month? I just separated them and neither is interested in eating, just breeding mode I guess. For GTP eggs I use 87.7 in the main chamber with the egg box in the 84.1 to 84.4 range. I think if I put the BP eggs at the top the box temps will be around 85.
