Ball Python shedding in one piece?

I read somewhere that it's impossible for ball pythons to shed in one piece? but a couple days ago my girl was in shed so I bumped up the humidity and I got one big pile of shed to pick up the next day. Do you know anything about this?

They should ideally shed in one whole piece. I don't know where you heard that...

I don't know I think it was a thread on this site and somebody said it was physically impossible. But yeah I didn't understand why? I'm just curious haha

Weird, my ball pythons first shed was a perfect one also.

Re: Ball Python shedding in one piece?

Oh wow I've never heard of this before either. My ball pythons shed in one piece easily almost every time and so do everyone else's that keep humidity at the proper level for them to shed in one piece. That's definitely a myth wherever you heard that from. That's so odd lol. I wonder why someone would tell you that. What would be prohibiting them from shedding in one piece?

Are you sure you're not thinking of lizards? Snakes usually shed in one piece if their environmental needs are met. If they don't, something is probably off, most likely the humidity.

Plenty of keepers here, myself included, have had BPs shed in one piece, so yeah that one is a myth. I'm pretty sure it's just lizards that can't shed in one piece, what with the legs and all.
