I Love him to death and Id never get rid of him,but from here on in I know Plissken will be my last BP. He is such a fuss pot, that now I thaw out one rat for Plissken if he doesnt eat it (wich half the times he doesnt) it gos to the Sumatran Short Tail...........I KNOW he's gonna eat it. Anyway Im just venting a bit.
On a possitive note, my friends fiance has two kids both girls one 10 one 13 well I showed the 13 yr old both the snakes and she was overwhelmed, she even held Plissken who was on his best beavioure, and her eyes almost popped out of her head when I took the blood out, those bright orange eyes realy mesmerised her, she kept saying "I cant believe his eyes are real" and "I dont understand why people are so afraid of snakes". I think Ive made a convert.

Excellent, Paul! And for what it's worth, not all BP's are as big a challenge as yours. You might have another half a dozen with nary a missed meal between them. It's a tossup, but as long as you keep your husbandry right and keep offering appropriate prey items and making sure that any RI's, etc., get vet treatment, then you are doing what you can do.

That's so kewl! I grew up with a mother that was deathly afraid of snakes, when I'd catch garters she wouldn't let me near the house (not even in the yard!)...however, I have a 10yr. old daughter who loves all sorts of animals, probably b/c she's been around them since she was born.....she doesn't get people that are afraid of them either, especially the harmless type......good for you for educating some young people!!

Amen Beagle I hear ya Bob can be such a pain in the bottom sometimes but I still love him to death.
We will probably end up with at least 1 more BP though the Mrs. wants one pretty bad.

I feel for ya, Paul. I'm still trying to get this silly gopher to eat...and while I had seriously considered finding a mate for him, I'm now wondering if I really want another one of these...even though I DO love Caesar and wouldn't want to part with him for anything.
Glad you had the chance to educate some children. One of my dreams/goals is to one day have an educational program set up and go into schools and such to show children how wonderful and un-scary snakes really are.

I like my 2 BP's and wish to own many more. One of these days i want a house and in the living room i want to build an elaborate cage with a rodent type burrow and everything. Its a dream but it will happen one of these days.
Thanks,
Damien
