Shedding question

Can BP's get more aggressive/defensive when theyre close to shed? Our 4 yr old male, who has never struck at or shyed away from me did both yesterday and today. He looks like hes going to shed soon but his eyes dont appear to be glazed over much yet. We fed him tonight and he made a couple wild strikes before hitting the rat and when i went to put the top of his humid hide back on he jerked away from me in a super defensive position. Yesterday he seemed to take a half hearted strike at me through the glass and seemed to be coiled to strike every time he saw me. Hot end is 87, cold end 80 and inside his humid hide is 84

They can. Usually as the eyes start to dull and blue it makes them unsure and defensive because their sight is impaired. It may not be blue yet but that does not mean your snakes vision is not already impaired by the process. Many snakes prefer to be left alone during this time.

Ok thanks. its just really weird hes never done that before. Ill just keep an eye on him I guess
