    New snake owner!

I got my first BP from Texas VIP Room Reptiles on Thursday. He is a little normal male. I have named him Whiskey. From what little I handled him when he first got here he is pretty docile. I learned very quickly to make sure his lid is locked since my cat sat on top of the lid popping one side up letting him out. Luckily he was just hanging out on top of the enclosure when I spotted him. Now the lid is double checked any time I open it.

I only have 1 picture of him at the moment since I want to make sure he is settled and has eaten before I handle him much.

This was taken in between two of my windows since my bedroom where his tank is stays pretty dark.

Whiskey is adorable. Welcome to the forum BP's are extremely docile, mine will come in bed with me and watch movies and tv and just hang out. I actually found that I handled mine a lot as a baby to get her familiar with my scent. Of course not all the time but at nights handle for a bit so he gets to know you and the surroundings outside of his enclosure.

Congratulations on your new little guy. Locking your cage is so very important- even without the cat popping up the lid, bps are experts at escaping when eyes are not on them. Have fun with him, BPs are great!

Thanks! He ate for me last night, he was reluctant at first but eventually took it. I triple check all locks now. There are a bazillion places he could hide in the room he is in and if he got out it would take forever to find him in my house.

I took a few more quick pictures of him.
