Have any of your females produced this sort of shed thingy before?

Umm, yes they DO produce sperm plugs. Though I think you're probably talking about something completely different then what a ball python breeder calls sperm plugs. Granted they do not produce a substance that will plug up a female making it impossible for another male to breed her, the plugs we're talking about are a kind of a waxy substance that comes from trying to evert the hemipenes on the males. It's NOT just genital sheds, I can express these plugs from some of my males daily. It IS an indication that they are producing sperm and are ready to breed.

I HAVE produced plugs from females which are dried mucus expressed from the musk glands, but these plugs look different than the plugs that come from males. Unfortunatly for AlexisFitzy, judging by the shape and length of the plugs in the picture that was posted, they do look like they came from a male.

I think I'm just going to buy a probe kit and probe her/him to be 100% sure. Because after I pulled this thing out I popped her/him again and still got no hemipenes. Just small little pink scent gland bulbs that are very far apart (since Hemipenes are a little closer together than scent glands) Not red hemipenes. I've popped my male Bubo before and seen his hemipenes so I know what they look like. But once my probe kit comes I'll know for sure. Because I am pretty confused about all this because I've never Ever seen one of these before, an I've been pretty sure she's been female all this time but this thing is definitely making me think she is male now.

And please keep all the info coming guys, apparently this is a subject I know nothing about. I've never even heard of a genital shed, I've only ever heard about sperm plugs.
