OMFG stop arguing already. If you want to post pictures in this thread, do it. If you think browned out pastels are below you then go post somewhere else. No one requires you to be here, and this thread is not about what standards you should hold yourself to regarding the quality of animals you have in your collection. This thread was originally a fun idea, a chance for those of us who maybe didn't do so well on our pick but still love our animals to have a little fun with it. But this last page is just making me sick.

Please allow those of us with open minds to view our animals as we wish. It is our right after all.

I'm sorry for the rant, really. But seriously, not everyone can have top-dollar animals, but we all have the right to enjoy any of them we wish. I personally love my pastel girl as she is. I may look for another one for breeding purposes next year, but if I should ever sell Mocha off, I would hope that she goes to someone who has as much respect for her as I do. Living in a state where most people are needlessly terrified of these animals and would just as soon have them all dead, I think any instance where these animals are being appreciated is a good thing, and should be encouraged. Trust me, that's much more important than striving for quality. Those who strive for quality will study their morphs and buy what they like, and having what YOU like is what this hobby is about.

So by all means, post more pics of your browns if you love them! Even brown pastels make good movie buddies!!

This cheap little thing was $175 shipped. Make your own judgment.

Just to put it out there. Just because a snake might look less attractive than others from the same clutch or even the same morph doesn't mean that they'll produce lower quality babies.

I can attest to this regarding two friends. When Enchis were first around, two people bought Enchis. One friend took the better looking one of the two and the other got the other one. When babies came around, that one that didn't look as good as the other one produces way better looking babies.

Ugly animals don't sell? Where do they go? I have seen a ton of morphs and morph combos especially that I would consider far from attractive but they generate high prices solely due to their genes. And considering most breeders keep the top quality animals almost everyone is getting someone's castoff. It's an interesting world that has sprung up over morphs, you'd think the variability in them would be more appreciated.

Unfortunately, you're right. Champagnes look like trash but because people with a big name sell and like them, people still buy them.

Sure, someone is getting some bodies cast off. But that's trickle down morphs I guess. I don't want to think people do it, but how many people just cull normals? And when a snake doesn't sell, and rack space is needed? Do they drop price, give it away, or cull it? Or do they just hang on to it.

The variable in morphs is well represented here, some people for some reason likes brown pastels. While there are others who strive for high yellow pastels.

0.1 Pastave. Head blushing, flames and yellow look pretty good to me.....

    Yeah, but.

How much of that is the Mojave male you used? You don't have to answer, I'll stop now.

Have you bred her in past seasons? And if so, do her babies keep their color?

She was a first year breeder. There is no way anyone can guarantee that a nice looking hatchling from spectacular parents will look good as an adult.... period.

    Dad is nothing special....
