    Rescue Burm. Need Help!

I rescued a burmese python and he's around 5 months old and under 2 feet long. He's so sweet but has absolutely no feeding response. I'll have to start force feeding if it keeps up. Does anyone know how to get him to start eating? I have to problem with force feeding and have done it many times but I hate doing it. Thanks for the help.

How long has it been since he ate, and what was the prey? What have you tried? Maybe it's just the pic quality, but he doesn't look like he's in bad shape to me.

We've tried f/t small mice but he won't take it. We haven't tried live yet but we can't get live in my area. He's not in terrible shape but he has no strength and his skin is saggy.

    Re: Rescue Burm. Need Help!

Try larger prey. A burm that size could easily eat rat pups. But first make sure it's cage temps and humidity are right. Give it a hide, and leave it alone for at least a week. No handling. No checking on it. Just quite and dark. Then make sure the prey is good and warm and offer it. It hasn't gotten to the age and size it is without eating so I'm sure if you give it some piece it will eat.

Try your best to find some live rats and if you can find live rats try putting the snake in a small tub just big enough to fit him and put a live rat in there with him. Put the tub in his cage and leave it over night.

Craigslist? Local pet store (not big box) or local herp society? Where there's a will, there's a way, to buy live rodents lol. Someone has to breed them somewhere around you.

Shoot maybe I'll ship ya some to help out lol
