Will my Lemon blast breed this year?

I picked up a female lemon blast a few months ago for this season, she's sitting around 2-2.2kg and is still eating like a champ.
I tried pairing her with both my mojo and fire boys yet i haven't seen any locks, what i have seen is a lot of scenting, tail wagging and an overall mess being made by the girl.
Whenever i check on them they seem to be on other sides of the RUB.

Before anyone asks if the sexes are correct, yes they are i've sexed all of them myself multiple times.

This is only my second year breeding so bear with me in terms of the newbie questions.

    Cheers
    Kuma

She might go. The scenting and tail wagging are good signs. Just keep pairing. And if it rains or a storm goes by, definitely pair around that time. The low pressure makes them frisky.

Re: Will my Lemon blast breed this year?

Balls can be just as moody as people in my opinion. My friend breeds pieds and albinos, and he has this one pied female who consistently lays large clutches for him, but she will refuse to lock with a male for months, and then suddenly she'll lock with him and that's it. And she is only interested in one of his four pied males. Won't go near the other three if he puts them in there. Again a lot of tail wagging and good indicators, but at the end of the day she won't breed with them. Weird, but one of those things you learn to live with. I guess it comes down to trial and error sometimes. Hope your stubborn duo gets to it!

The other thing is, some pairs are sneaky. I have one YB female that I have never seen lock, but she obviously did because she gave us a very nice clutch.

and to be "that guy" don't forget that just because you see a lock doesn't mean she will lay.....................

Is she a virgin or had she been bred before?
