How long ?
Hi guys,
How long after the bp do their stuff does she lay the eggs ? And after it's 55 days for them to hatch correct ?

It could range between weeks to months to never.
You have to watch for an ovulation then countdown from that. Some time after ovulation they go through a pre-lay shed. After the pre-lay shed, they lay eggs about 30 days later.

Hatching duration depends on your incubation temps. Most people do see around 60 days. Warmer temps will have quicker hatch dates compared to cooler ones in general.
And artificial incubation will usually be quicker than maternal incubation.

That's about as good as the info gets. You will learn in time and as you grow that it does deviate from the norm from time to time but that's a pretty good guideline. Thanks for tossing that up Nikki

Re: How long ?
You say watch for an ovulation but don't they just come out at night ? How long does an ovulation last and I'm guessing that they are stuck together ? Also, what is a pre-shed ?
Thank you

A pre-lay shed is simply when the snake sheds prior to laying her eggs.
You might want to check out the breeding section of the forums to get some ideas on what to expect. Here ya go: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/forum...65-BP-Breeding
