Leopard Boa Temperament?
Who here has them? As far as I understand, they are a dwarf species, but what is their general adult size? Also, do they tend to be nasty like the Nics, or are they fairly tameable? Just curious.
Thanks!

Females around 5' males a bit smaller. And they are like any other boa, if you put the time into handling them they will calm down, if not then they can be quite feisty, nics are the same, some just take a bit more work than others

Re: Leopard Boa Temperament?
I have a few het leopards. They are like most nic's. As babies they were a little pissy. Now they are fine. They are quicker to get pissy then most of my South American stuff but not bad. I also have a leopard hatchling. She is probably the sweetest snake in my collection.

Leopards are a morph - not a specific locality or sub-species. They are NOT a dwarf boa (and I actually don't believe there is such a thing as a true "dwarf" boa, only smaller sub-species, but that is another topic).
The Leopard gene comes from the Sonoran Desert boas of Mexico. This specific locality is smaller than the average BCI, but it is a BCI and still has the capacity to reach lengths of 6-7 ft. The Sonorans do average a bit smaller though, around 5-6 ft.
So every Leopard boa has at least some Sonoran blood in them and, as such, they may tend to be on the smaller end of the average. But their size will ultimately depend on just how much Sonoran blood they do have.
I have one visual Leopard and 3 hets. My adult female het is one of my sweetest animals. She is an absolute doll. The others are fine too, although the visual leopard male can be a bit touchy at times. But nothing beyond normal.

Re: Leopard Boa Temperament?
Talking to a woman about this little boa right now. She's advertising it as a general Central American boa, but can anyone place the specific type?
