Tank Size
I will most likely be taking a female leopard gecko from a friend very soon. She will come with her tank and such but I was wondering if a 3ftX1.5ft cage is too big for a single gecko. I don't plan on housing her with any other geckos. If the 3ft cage is too big (it's an Exoterra), then I will keep her in the tank she comes with (a 20g I think). And in that case, I'll just have to convince my hubby to let me get something to put in the 3ft cage.

Re: Tank Size
I think a 20g is a perfect home for a single leopard gecko. But beware of the affliction that all herpers suffers from sooner or later. . . . ECS
EMPTY CAGE SYNDROME!!!!

Oh I understand (and suffer from) that syndrome, which is why the hubby wants to know if the Leo can go in the 3ft. He doesn't want me to have a reason to get something to put in the larger cage.

Re: Tank Size
A Leo can probably live in it just fine. The issues are this:
With such a large area heating it may be more difficult
The gecko may or may not find all of its food at every meal which leaves you with dead crickets and wasted money etc.
Those are the only real "cons" I can think of.

I think it would be best to keep her in her current tank. That just means I need to find something I like to put in the 3ft.
