While im at it, another question. on the side of his body there is some 'dehisance', lots of black small dots and bits as if he was rotting??? Ill see if i can get any pictures.

If the black dots do not move and are not seen in the water dish, its likely a slight granite pattern. Lots of ball pythons have a slight granite in their pattern and its seldom genetic. I have some with a little granite and it looks very similar. Watch the water dish in case its mites.
Correct that most "granite" is not genetic however I am not seeing anything other than a normal type body here.
True granite is larger and usually the animal will also have broken alien heads to match.
