bp rack temp help
i was curious since i would love to start breeding ball pythons but my room rarly leaves 65 degress in the winter and 75 in the summer if i had 2 strips of heat tape one as belly at 90 degress and the cooler side around 80-83 degress would that work or just rather find a better place to put them? any help is well appreciated.

Or you could heat your room. My snake room is heated every winter to 75 degrees with an oil heater. I don't really worry about it in the summer, some days it's hot enough in there everything is basically shut off. If heating your room in the winter isn't an option, or would be a fire hazard, then two sets of heat tape would be fine. That's what I recommend for people that want to use tanks, but have a cold house. One side set at 78-80 degrees, one side set at 88-90 degrees.

I agree with the above. Heat the whole room if possible, oil filled heaters do work best. And if that is not an option use two pieces of heat tape and two thermostats, or a herpstat2. You can also insulate around the outside of your rack with foam.

Re: bp rack temp help
I agree with the previous posters. A normal space heater with built in thermostat is a very efficient way to keep your snake room in the mid to high 70s.

Double tape is definitely an option, I'm lazy though so I heat the room. I use a ceramic heater with a built in t-stat and auto cut-off (prevents a fire if it accidentally tips over) which cost me $40 off Amazon. Just remember that where you position the heater (if you go that route) is important, if it's on the floor and set to 75, temps up higher in the room may be closer to 85.

I will agree with everyone else as well.
I heat my snake room to 82°-86°(lowest night time drop highest mid day) and it seems to work very well. No other heat is used.
