Ball Python Popping
Okay so I'm new here. Hello all! Glad to be a part of the community. Ill start with my name is Zac. I currently have 6 ball pythons in a rack. I went from one to 6 in a week and a half. Im sure I'm not the only one haha. Now i know there are many posts about popping and sex related posts on here but all i am wondering is if there is anyone local that could meet me and show me how to pop in my area? I can get sperm plugs on the older males but i can't seem to perfect what i am doing. I need some help and i am located in Corona, CA. Anyone that is willing to help please let me know! its driving me nuts that i can't figure this out!
P.S. Ive watched the videos over and over and its not seeming to help
TIA,
Zac

Re: Ball Python Popping
Contact one of the LLL Reptile stores. The one in Menifee on the 215 is probably closest to you. I was there today and they offered to sex my son's two baby ball pythons. They told him to "Bring 'em in". All the people who work there are great and the supplies there are reasonably priced. I live in Colton and it's worth the 35 minute drive to me!

Re: Ball Python Popping
Instead of popping, why won't you just probe your snake? The kit is like 20 bucks and from what I know, it's more reliable than popping. Plus, probing is really easy. You just have to be very careful and gentle.
Here's the video from which I learned:

I had a local breeder come over and pop mine for me as I didn't feel comfortable doing it myself. With popping and probing (more so probing) if you do something wrong there is a chance you could injure your snake. I wasn't willing to take that risk, their health was more important so I waited.
Go to a reputable reptile place, a breeder or more experienced owner around you who knows what they are doing. Some may let you know free of charge or you may have to pay a small amount. This is what I would advise and this is all my own personal opinion. Some people pop and probe with no incident, maybe I was just a little too paranoid about making a mistake.
