Is This a Good Male to Breed Quality BP?

    Hello everyone,

First of all, I want to thank everyone who contributes to this forum; what a great help this is and what an amazing source of information. I have been learning so much this last year about ball pythons thanks to you. I enjoy these animals more and more every day.
The reason I started this thread is because I need your advice with one of the snakes in my collection. It is a pastel-YB male that I purchased as a baby. It had nice bright colors back then. He is now 700 gr but I noticed that he is getting darker and darker with time. This is the only male I have, and my plan is to breed nice quality BP with bright colors with my Firefly, Mojave and Pinstripe females next year.
I was wondering if this pastel-YB is really high quality or if I should get another better quality male (hopefully a 3-gene) for my breeding plans. I prefer to do the things right from the beginning.

Please see the attached pictures, all of them are just after shedding except the belly one that is just before shedding.
(no need to sugarcoat your opinions, I would like to see what is your objective criteria )

Thanks in advance for your advice,

    Alex

You should try to get pics of him in natural light because the colors look off in these pics. But going by these pics, he isn't the worst, but isn't the best either (aka average) just my .02

I was finally able to put "Tigger" in the sunlight and take some pictures of him. Look at the last one, I think he likes posing
    So, what do you think?

He's awesome, imo. Pastels tend to get darker with time and it's normal. He should make awesome snakes with the firefly. I also have a Lemon Pastel Bling YB who was bright as gold when he was a baby and now is a little bit darker.

    Good luck with the pairings.

This is him as a baby

This is him 600 grams later.

Thank you very much, I really value your opinion, and I will keep Tigger no mater what. He is such a nice boy. He is our pet, I carry him around my neck when I am at home working on my computer all the time; (I think he likes surfing internet). We love him and hopefully next year he will be a proud dad.
