BP skipped his passed two meals

He's been feeding weekly for the passed three months since I've gotten him, and last week he just ignored the rat. I tried feeding him again today but he was just having a staring contest with the rat. I feed live btw since hes too stubborn to switch over. I think it might be the cold weather that could be affecting him, so I put the heat lamp on longer than usual. 95-100 hot side, 75-80 cool side. He seems to bask under the heat lamp most of the day, for the passed few days. Do BPs skip meals when its cold?

How large and how old is he?
Sexually mature and adult BPs will go off feed for the breeding season, which is just starting.

95-100 is too hot. The hot side shouldn't exceed 95 at the most.

Yes I would say its probably the breeding season fast. Keep the hot side around 90... putting it higher is not going to affect his eating and that's way too high!

I wouldn't be too concerned with two missed feeds, some BP's go off food for no reason at all, some go off for breeding season etc. I'm sure some go off food just to worry us A few missed feeds will not do your guy any harm.

Keep offering and don't worry about refusals, monitor weight and if it is seasonal he'll be back on feed in time
