    HELP! Extended power outage!

We have an area wide power outage that is estimated to be restored TOMORROW night at midnight and we just had a nasty cold front blow through north Texas. How in the hell can I keep our 2 babies warm in the mean time? I'm going to buy a generator first thing tomorrow but what can I do over night tonight? Please help. We're terrified of letting these guys get so cold. We have no fireplace we can put them in front of either.

Do you have any heat packs like they ship with?

If the corner store is still open, grab a few of those hand warming packs, wrap one or two in a thick towel and press it up against one side of the enclosure (on the outside). If not, insulate well, move them into a smaller room if possible, consider lighting a few candles while you're awake to keep the temperature up. It's certainly not ideal, but you'd be surprised what these guys are capable of handling. Don't take any risks with their safety or your own.

    Be calm.
    1) pour hot water into water bottles.
    2)put water bottles into socks
    3) put them into your snake enclosures.

    Or
    1) pour hot water into water bottles
    2) put water bottles into a insulated cooler
    3) put your snakes into smaller tubs or snake bags/pillow case
    4)put contained snakes into cooler.

The warmth lasts a few hours. Around 5 in my experience before the water has to be changed again.

My house has dropped to 61 already and we're expecting an overnight low of 26. Power has been off 4 hours already and I'm afraid the house might drop into the 40s overnight. Will a young boa and ball python survive those temps? Our corner store's power is out as well.

Unfortunately, no. My boa was bought from Petco and I bought our pin from a local breeder.

Those temps are not good. If they survive, they will likely get severely ill.
If you have to and don't have access to hot water, put them in a pillowcase and sleep with them under your bed covers.

I'd be too afraid of rolling over and crushing them. I'm seriously considering getting a hotel room tonight and charging it to the electric company.

    HELP! Extended power outage!

There isn't a WalMart in maybe another city that still has power? Getting those hand warmers as stated above would be good.

If your power stays out for several days Im about 50 miles south of Houston. I could probably get some supplys and priority ship them to you. Since we are so close they should arrive next day. Anyway I could help let me know.
