BP tummy burn and possible RI

So we have had Psymon for about a year, and he's been shedding and eating great for the last 6 months. However, when he went into shed this last time, he had a terrible time of it. Each time we went to rinse and fill his water he seemed extra grumpy so we left him alone. Fast forward to yesterday when we decided to ignore the hissing and take him out to change the substrate (we have been using newspaper with no issues) and found that his belly was burned. Not the worst I've seen from Internet pics but pretty bad. We put Neosporin on the burns and changed the paper to paper towels and took out anything we could that he could scrape himself on and injure the burn further. I bought some silver cream (the anti microbial one) today, as I saw it was mentioned on here a few times for burns.
We were going to give it a day or two of cream and having paper towels before taking him to the vet. However, he spent most of the day in his hide (which is on the hot side) today and when we checked on him this evening we thought we heard a clicking noise. We are hyper sensitive as we lost a BP to an RI (turns out we had gotten him when he was already sick). Given his terrible shed, could the clicking just be from skin stuck?
We cannot get him to the vet until Thursday, and are really worried his condition will deteriorate rapidly.
Please any advice as to what to do is appreciated. We feel terrible!!

So your saying it has stuck shed and a burn?

It really sounds like you need to study up and make sure your husbandry is corrected. The stuck shed means you need more humidty and the burn means you do not have your heat regulated correctly.

Pics would probably help us help you. Tell us more about the cage setup so we can make sure this doesn't happen again.

Re: BP tummy burn and possible RI

We are surprised as he has shed beautifully for the past 5 months. Like just inside out skin from head to tail, with almost no missing chunks. He eats regularly and feeds without issue.
His tank is regularly 90-95 on the hot side and 80-85 on the cool side. There is a red bulb in there now, mainly due to the fact that the lamp is on all the time and the tank is in my son's room. We aim to keep the humidity between 55-60% by misting the tank regularly and putting a wet towel in there when he's close to shed to keep it extra moist.
I will try and post pics but am doing this from an iPad and am having technical difficulties.

Why is the lamp on all the time??? Do you have a UTH? Is the lamp regulated with a thermostat? Is the lamp inside the enclosure? If its in the enclosure is it caged? If not thats likely the cause of the burn. How are you measuring temps i.e. with what and where?

Some people need the lamp on all the time to keep up ambient temps

It is okay to use pine bedding for snakes.

Does he have a hide on the cool side? If not, he needs one - BP's will choose security over thermoregulating if they only have one option to hide.

90 to 95 air temps are too high should have a hot spot 90 and a cool side about 78.Get a fogger, shoe box and get some f10 for the RI.there are a lot of videos on how to set it up and us it I think bhb has one also.Good Luck.
