Leos not interested in mealworms?
Hey guys, I have 3 leopard geckos, and 2 of them aren't interested in mealworms at all. I have my own mealworm farm and I really don't want to start a cricket farm cause of the smell etc. Any ideas to get them started? Thanks guys! -Harrison from HLReptiles.

Try adding a carrot or something with the mealworms to make them move a little more. If that doesn't work then those two leos might just not like mealworms.

Shake them up and dust them. Like angry bees my mealworms wiggle more after that.
If not they usually play dead and lay there.
It works for me but sometimes i just gotta cherry pick the ones that are nonstop crawlers/wigglers

My Leo won't eat mealworms or even super worms.
Even with carrots and dusting...

How are you feeding the mealworms? Do you just toss them in the cage or put them in a bowl? I use worm dishes like these http://www.tsksupply.com/small-worm-dish/, some Leo's I never actually see eat, but the worms disappear so I know they're eating them. You could also start a colony of B. dubia roaches. Far less smell then crickets and no noise. Some of my Leos won't touch THOSE but most of them will and it makes for a nice alternate food source.

I put 10 at a time and they're still there a week later...

Re: Leos not interested in mealworms?
I'm using a dish like that, but I have tried feeding them via tweezers, they just don't seem interested. I'm gonna try crickets and see how that goes, hopefully they will start eating them.

Crickets are the way to go. I like the roaches, but the dude selling them around here sells them for like .79 a piece.

Mine wasn't interested either, turns out he couldn't see them in the dish! I put an extra slate tile next to the bowl for him to stand on so he could he could see them and now he eats them
