Ball Pythons don't require taming, can you post more details about your husbandry details, temps, humidity...etc

Yeah, hissing is more likely due to stress. First stop = check the environment.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

My pastel BP used to hiss as a bluff. I would make sure husbandry and set up was correct and if it seemed he was only reacting to me I would act with persistence and slow handling. he never hisses anymore.

What everyone has said. Sounds like stress due to a tank set up.

Re: How to tame a hissing BP?
I just recently bought an adult Pastel Sugar, he loves to hiss and sometimes strike at me. I've learned to open his tub, take out his hide and let him come out on his own so he doesn't feel threatened by me grabbing him. He likes to explore so it doesn't usually take him long. Also I bumped up the size of his meals, I think it was a combo of stress from the new move and the person before me was only feeding him mice. He's starting to come around now.
