    Clutch #1!

The days are quickly approaching to the end of my wait for clutch #1! Tabitha (a normal) was bred to three males (two with confirmed locks). I cut the eggs on day 52 and saw that the black pastel won the clutch!

On September 30th, I came from from class to a pip! That gem is a normal female. As silly as it sounds, she's so pretty that I may make rack space for her

Tuesday, I woke up to several more pips. Today, all but 1 egg have pipped and these two came out of their eggs. The first is a black pastel male and his normal brother

I will continue to post pictures as the rest emerge and shed! Once they shed I'll get proper pictures of them in my light tent. I didn't want to harass them to much so they have gone into the "male" or "female" tub to shed out before going into their individual tubs. All females will be probed after they shed. I'm not 100% confident in my popping ability. However, I've never been wrong popping a baby...

It doesn't sound silly to me! Can't go wrong with a normal female, especially one you've produced lovely little snakes.

Oh man...is it ever! I go to school 8+ hours a day so I love coming home to see them out of the egg!

Yes! I wish he was a she!

#4 and #5 were out when I woke up. Both are black pastel females. #4 has an almost complete dorsal stripe and it looks like she may be my holdback. I'll make a final decision after the rest hatch and they shed out.

    Re: Clutch #1!

Well, sad news...I decided to go ahead and probe all my females just to make sure I was right on sexes. My favorite (#4) is male! Darn!

I came home from class today to see #6, #7, and #8 ! All are black pastel females (double checked by probing)

    #6

    #7

#8 has a cute little ringer!

It looks like I have 1 more black pastel in the egg and it should hopefully be out by tomorrow morning. The only one who has yet to pip is a normal. I'm getting a little bit concerned that it hasn't pipped on it's own. I don't see a twisted cord or anything...but this is my first clutch and I don't know what to truly look for. Any help would be appreciated. I'll start a new thread if I need to.
