OK. I apologize for sounding snooty.

It just got to me how you were trying to preach to the forum how there are so many ill prepared newbies and that's why snakes suffer, while you were doing the same yourself.

Next time you get an animal, just get your stuff together and prepared beforehand. If you can't afford or prepare for it, don't get the animal. Just save up. Making your animals sick or stressed from an improper enclosure will cost a whole lot more in vet bills. Its unnecessary and preventable.

I don't know much of the history with the original poster but maybe instead of jumping all over him right away suggestions can be made on how to correct what is currently being used? When looking closely you can see the pre-punched holes in the side which is typical of melamine planks bought at home depot and such. I would guess self built. Since I use a self built rack system (made from melamine) the top of every one of my enclosures is melamine. It appears to have a hinged lid made of either glass or something else. If it's glass or acrylic I would suggest Lexan. Using a lid like this would be much better humidity control then the screen top many new owners use. With there being two hides my guess is there is two regulated temperature zones. Now if it is Lexan and there is temperature control I only see two problems. The first being the light which my guess is it may only be turned on for viewing if that's the case it would be a non-issue. Second would be the cloth inside which I would think a snake can get tangled in. So with all that I'll make suggestions.

1) Remove the cloth so the snake wouldn't get tangled.
2) Remove the light especially if its meant as a heat source. Lexan for the top is user friendly to work with you can get a sheet cut to size and cut a hole inside. Then install a screen to allow heat inside.

Lastly it seems you may be having fun and enjoying your snakes so I would say to continue to do so.

Aaaand, what the heck is she living in, a drawer?? As for having a paycheck, yep, you should have one of those and a proper enclosure BEFORE you take on the responsibility of an animal.

I had a custom rack built for her but it turned out a little small. Some people don't even try. I fixed this error, and you clearly read that I bought a BoaPhile enclosure. Therefore, there's no reason to continue this discussion

The bulb is a UVB just so I can see in there sometimes, and it also helps when I'm trying to clean (I just recently covered the light and the wiring with a clear plastic container and screwed it in to avoid the snake climbing on it and getting hurt or anything). I am using a UTH and a HydroFarm Thermo to heat and regulate heat. I originally had a rack built but it's not big enough for her. That's why I have her in there until my BoaPhile 421D comes.
The only thing I need to change is the cloth. I guess I didn't consider her getting tangled *facepalm* thanks!

Sorry, everyone. I should have explained that I originally had a setup that I thought would work (the rack I mentioned) however, it was made too small, and I bought a BoaPhile 421D, so.. Until I het that, she has to stay somewhere, and this is that somewhere. I know that this enclosure is obsolete, and unfit for her. I'll post pictures of her new BoaPhile once it gets here! Last night I got an email saying (for some stupid reason) that my payment didn't go through, so my 421D hasn't been shipped yet hopefully I'll get it next week, tops.
