Hmmmm that's really tough to tell. Another week or so and we should know for sure. However, I am leaning more towards she she's not prego right now.

Here's what a pregnant rat should look like.

OK she's a good weight I wait until at least 200 grams to breed females.

    Re: Pregnant Rat??

I dunno maybe it's just that she gained a lil weight while I was gone for a week . Just googled female rat weight and it looks like average is 200- 300g.

This is probably the most frustrating thing ive been thru in this trade. Feeders are always to far away for me so I'm always wasting a lot of gas. I've been trying to establish a colony for almost 2 months now with no luck.

Is there any way you can get a colony that is already breeding?

You just have these 2 together? Do you have any other females in with them? My males usually are in a min 1.3 tub but 1.4 is the norm. Only way to tell who the problem lies with. Lol

I just assume the people I get rats off of wouldn't want to sell me breeders ect ... since I'm giving them money every week for rats. I don't even know what's a fair price to offer for 3 establised females and a male.

Yeah I only have the male and female together. No other females, I did buy 2.7 last expo Greg and I wanted to isolate them before adding them to the rack. I put them all in a 40 gal breeder I woke up and a agressive female siamese killed every single rat.

She had one half eaten when I seen all of them dead there was food water hides ect. Like I said I have had the worst luck trying to start my colony up.
