    Bumblebee Ball Python Stool Issue

I got her about a month ago. She was 65 grams when I bought her. She's 78 grams right now. It took 2 weeks to get her to eat. She ate an 8 gram f/t rat pup then 5 days later I gave her another. For the last few days she's been pooping just a little bit in a corner of her tub. The stool isn't solid but it's not diarrhea either. Does anyone think something is going on with her? I'm still waiting to see if she has a nice solid stool but it hasn't happened yet. Should I be concerned or do some snakes just go to the bathroom a little at a time? The temperature and humidity levels are fine. I have her in a rack with 2 other snakes which are both doing fine. Any help would be appreciated. Could stress maybe be causing this?

Do you have a picture? What you are describing could be urates mixed with a little bit of poop.

If it happens again I'll get a picture. It's just happening every day or every other day that's what I'm worried about.

That's the stuff. Any idea of what's going on?

Oh hmm that is weird. I would try and get a sample and bring it into a vet to have it tested. Call ahead to ask if they do fecal floats for reptiles. You shouldn't need a whole exam, just ask to drop off the poo and then go from there.

Small frequent meals means small frequent poops. I've had babies poop like that and it's never been an issue. However if it bothers you let your vet check it out and the be 100% sure.

8g is WAY too small, thats not a pup. 8g is a pinkie. You should be feeding pups, around 20g.

20 gram meals for an 80 gram snake? I thought it was 10-15% of its body weight. The snake is still skinny. I have 12 gram rats I'm going to try next feeding. But thanks for the info. She keeps defecating in the same exact spot too. It's a little odd. Maybe I'll get it checked out. Thanks again.

Thats a silly rule, doesn't apply to hatchlings. Trust me, an 80g snake will eat a 15-20gram rat with no issues at all.
