Can females successfully breed different times each year

I am a little confused if females always need to be bred around the same time each year as they have in the past to have any chance at success.

This will be my first year breeding and I recently picked up a big proven normal girl to add to my collection. The last two years she laid in early Nov. Does this mean she will be developing follicles soon and if she isn't breed now she will re-absorb and not lay this year? Or can I keep the temps up and wait to pair her up in Nov like I plan on doing with my other girls? Basically, do I need to breed her now to have any hope of her laying this season?

From my experience, they usually ovulate a few months after you start pairing them together but anythings possible. Some girls go when they want to, some keep to a schedule.

Hi they can breed any time of year but they are more likely to breed and ovulate during breeding season.
There are always late and early clutches some clutches so late that they are early. I have seen lock ups any time of year but the odds of a clutch are greater during breeding season.

OK, so do follicles generally develop on a certain schedule (same time every year regardless of temps/being bred) or is it more dependent on temps and if males are introduced?

I've never heard of a female producing follicles before a male is introduced, but if they did, they could still re-absorb them if unable to fertilize.

Females can definitely produce follicles without being introduced to a male!
