Stretch Marks on Boas
So I was cleaning the boa enclosures this last weekend and noticed both my male BCIs have developed vertical lines along their sides that almost look like stretch marks. Both are 2012 males weighing in around 300 grams, are housed in AP T8s, are currently fed 1 lean rat pup every 7 days, and are handled 2-3 times per week. Temp gradient is fine: 88-90 warm end and 76-79 cool end. Humidity 50%-60% non-shed. Enclosures are spot cleaned daily and sanitized weekly. Body wise, they are good and muscular..I like to call it "boa square". No other health issues. Both have super sweet temperaments and eat and poop fine.
Has anyone seen these in their boas? Is this a feeding issue (rats vs mice)? Sedentary issue? Nothing to worry about? Sorry, I didn't take pics.

Re: Stretch Marks on Boas
Are they crinkley marks like this? Mine get these from curling up tight. Can you get some pics?

I have seen those marks on my boas as well, even occasionally on my balls. If that is what your seeing its nothing to worry about.

If they look like the picture DooLittle posted, they're just crease marks. You see more of them the closer they are to shedding. All boas will get them, but you'll see more of them on ones that are in too small cages, since they spend more time curled up tightly.

Yes, that is exactly what I am seeing. Awesome pic, Doolittle! Sorry, at work when I decided to ask, but those are exactly what I am seeing. It makes sense as my Hypo male just loves to curl up in his hide and has more of those lines whereas my Crimson boy is a little more active and has fewer. So if I put two and two together, this is more of a lifestyle thing rather than anything to worry about. They're only 300 grams each and are in a divided T8..one on one side, the other on the other side. I have a few more enclosures coming so I'll see if the move to a larger full T8 prompts my Hypo to wander a bit more and stretch...
Thanks everyone!

Haha, yeah, I've noticed these on my hypo guy more than my albino girl. I recently took his favorite hide away because it was getting too small. :p
