Re: I bought a cinnamon that might actually be a black pastel?

Herp world expo? Who'd you pick her up from? I like her, definitely makes me think black pastel over cinnamon!

In that last pic, she has the pattern of a cinny and the color of a black pastel. Probably a dark cinny as the breeder says. I definiitely like her!

Thanks for your input, everyone! Apparently the momma pewter is for sale but I failed to notice her yesterday, so I haven't seen the parents. I bought my snake from Keo Santoso of Keo Reptiles. He has one new morph with so many genes he's just labeling it "WTF." lol

Many people believe that cinny and black pastel are just lighter or darker expressions of the same gene mutation. Personally I think they're compatible but different. Subtly different mutations of the same gene. I'm sure that someone with a stronger genetics background could explain it better. But yes you have the possibility of producing a solid colored snake when bred to either a cinnamon or a black pastel. That one does appear to have characteristics of both but the pattern looks cinnamon to me, just really dark.

If the breeder says Cinny then it's probably true. Either way, stunning addition! Reminds me of my cinny as a hatchling

It's got a lot of cinny traits, but it's got the darkness of a black pastel . Honestly, if black pastel and cinny were the same thing (i believe theyre different), then you own a perfect hybrid . If the breeder sold it to you as a cinny, I would just call it a cinny. Any babies you produce would be cinny combos. Congrats on the new smokin pickup!!

I would trust in what Keo said it was, he seems to have a good idea of what he's doing.
