After shuffling through the forums a bit figured it was a good time to introduce myself!
I'm from Indianapolis. I have had my normal female (Orchid) for just about a month now. I've wanted a bp for a long time and finally convinced the wife to let me bring her home. Mom is not a fan of snakes and it took me 2 years to finally be allowed to have a green iguana when I was younger. So I am ecstatic to have Orchid now! We also have a cattle dog/aussie shepherd mix (Ozzy) and a Manchester Terrier (Lola). Ozzy is a tad obsessed with Orchid. When she ventures about in her tank at night he lays on the couch and watches her. When I have her out he is right next to me waiting patiently to see her and give her a quick kiss.
The first month with Orchid was frustrating. Between asking questions here and a few long time bp owners I know from work, I somewhat stayed sane. But I am happy to report she finally ate for the first time for me yesterday and spent the majority of the past day soaking after her meal.
I look forward to learning all I can from all of you!
