    Rack questions

I am currently in the planning stages of building a small rack system. Im building it to hold 6 28qt stetilite tubs on 3 shelves and I am planning on using flex watt for heating. I have two questons.

    1) which t-stat should i get? (I'm currently looking at a VE on reptile basics)

    2) I only have one bp right now and I keep him in a display tank. Im building this rack in preparation for my next bp and want it to be big enough to house a few more in the future so what I wanted to do is wire switches along the flex watt in order to be able to turn off unused shelves. Is that possible or is there an easier way to do the same thing?

I would just wire each shelf individually and when you need a particular shelf to heat, plug it into the power bar. That’s how ARS rack work.

I use Spyder Robotics, love them.

    I like Herpstats.

Wire each shelf with its own plug. Then you can unplug the shelf that's not in use.

Yep. Buy direct or The Bean Farm are some nice people to work with.

    What size is your BP?
28q are good for smaller sized but not big enough for adults.
I personally like larger tubs for my females 41q+

    Just a thought.

My bp is only 250g but he's in the display tank. I plan on getting a female about the same size for the tub and when she gets too big ill have excuse to build a rack for 41 qt tubs

    Good thinking

I have never used the VE so I can't comment.
I have seen good talk on both.

Personally I just went with Herpstat because I had seen them in person and liked what I read about them. Made up my mind and stuck with it.
