switched to rack & now off feed

I just switched my guys from a divided boamaster to a 28 qt rack system about 6 weeks ago and at first it was going just like normal... but now 3 of my 4 snakes are off feed ( 2 are adult snakes over 1000 grams) and they are all acting really shy and jumpy when I open tubs. I was using newspaper as substrate and now have cypress mulch. Is this just prolly a coincidence or should I also put some type of hide inside the tubs to make them feel more secure?
    any suggestions?

Some snakes still require hides in tubs to feel secure. How are your temps and humidity?

My snakes in the rack all have at least one hide, the smaller guys have two hides.

ok Ill try some hides and see if they start feeling more secure...temps are about 88 on hot spot and 78 in front of tubs so I think its jsut the change thats got them acting different

Between switching thier homes and the bedding as well they may just need time to get used to the new surroundings. how long have they been off feed?
Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?

Yea I always have at least one hide. You've basically rehomed them so give them a little time to resettle as well.

My crew don't feed as well in a rack I rotate them once in a while (18-24 months) and the odd thing is they all eat more meals in the enclosure than the rack. (I have a five tier AP rack and 6 enclosures) About 7-12% more meals a year. The temps in my case are all about the same give or take. I have no explanation for this at all.

How exactly are your temps in the rack, both surface hot and cool as well as ambient air temps? Is there a big difference? Air temps in a rack are far harder to control than a enclosure so there is often a big change there.
