I like Sterling (it sure fits her!) - I'll name her shortly, I hate leaving them nameless for too long

Re: New Addition: 0.1 '13 Boa Constrictor Longicauda (BCL)!
Congrats.
I got one of these myself not long ago and really like the activity of these guys when out.
It is cool seeing others pick up this species, they do seem to be a great introductory boa. Atleast, from my newbie to boa perspective. BCO or BCM might have been a bit much as an introduction.

Wow! Very pretty. :agree: Sterling would be a great name.
Any major differences in size or care from a BCI/BCC? Or are the differences minor?

I started with Colombian BCIs and think they're wonderful boas to start out with: I fully recommend Hog Islands to those wanting to get into boas too. This little girl is awesome though
I don't know what a BCM is though.

These guys do better in slightly cooler temps too (as I keep all my other boas: the Hog, Colombians, and my Argentines) and Scott mentioned they can be a little sensitive to feeding when babies like BCCs (ie don't feed too large with them). Other than those their care seems very similar. They can max out around 6-7' but they aren't considered one of the "bigger" boas.
