    Quick shed?!?

I fed Gabriel last night, this morn I went chech his tank for urate n poop. Found urates, but also his shed. Which must have come off during a 8-12 hr period. Anyone else experienced a shed this quick?...I noticed his eyes were cloudy, but due to lack of xp I didn't notice any other signs. I expected more signs....

    Quick shed?!?

It wasn't really as quick as you think, you just missed some of the signs. Short version - pink belly, dulled colors, cloudy eyes, eyes go clear, snake sheds. All in all, the whole thing lasts 10-14 days, give or take.

I'm sure, I just expected it to be more obvious. Like I said, his eyes did get cloudy, oh and I did notice one day he felt dry, but I figure I was lacking in husbandry. But I suppose it was apart of the process.

No, as Annarose has pointed out, most shedding from start to finish is 10-14 days, though I've had some go as quick as 7. That's from the first signs until it's actually shedding.

All three of mine are in the shedding process right now. All started at the same time. One already has most of his shedding off but the other two haven't moved and their eyes are clear again. Lazy snakes. Lol

I've had a snake go from just a few shades darker (before a pink belly, even) to fully shed in 6 days. Perfectly healthy, just went through a fast shed. On the other side, one of my girls took 3 weeks to go from bright pink belly to shed.

Some snakes are very hard to see the signs the lighter ones especially can be very difficult my BEL is really hard to tell I miss the beginning all the time. I have never seen a snake take less that 10 day I suspect that the initial signs have been missed the hazy dull look is first, then a milky appearance, followed by a pink belly, then blue eyes, and clearing of the milky look and the actually shed.

I sometime hear some say sheds are only a few days but that is from blue eyes not the beginning of the cycle.

I can usually tell when my snakes start to go into shed just fro the fact that they're a few shades darker than usual, about a day before I start noticing any pink at all. I was super shocked when my boy blasted through a shed in 6 days. Day 1 he had a light pink belly, day 2 he was hazy all over, days 3-4 he was in blue, day 5-6 he was cleared up and he shed on the evening of day 6. It sounds crazy but my records back it up. Wrote down 'pink belly' on December 22nd, and 'shed' on the 27th. So far as I can recall, it was a pale pink and not a deep pink.
